CPE Prep - Equine and Bovine/Ruminant
Tutorial content:

This 5-day CPE intensive runs from Monday morning to Friday afternoon.

Instruction includes:

* horse handling, including how to safely enter a stall or paddock, catch and put a halter on a horse, lead a horse, securely tie a horse using a quick-release knot, pick up a horse's feet (forelimbs and hindlimbs), clean out the feet, use hoof testers, advise the client/handler where to stand and how to hold the horse for examination.

* 2-3 hours/day of dedicated exam prep following the CPE manual

* farm calls with Dr. Gemeinhardt as appropriate (subject to client approval)

Over the course of the week, we'll cover all of the animal handling and clinical skills required for the exam, but it's up to you to make sure you're well prepared
for your exam. Please come ready to learn as much as you can while you're here.

We want you to pass!

Costs:

Tutorial prices vary according to what you need, starting at $1,100 for the 5-day equine intensive.

There is an additional fee for bovine work, which must be arranged well in advance, owing to limited availability.

There is also a modest nightly fee for the guesthouse.

You'll be responsible for your own meals while you're here. The guesthouse has
a full kitchen, including a microwave, and there are two grocery stores in the nearby town of Walnut Cove.

You're also responsible for your own transport here and back, but you will not
need a vehicle while you're here. If you are flying in to Greensboro, let us know and we'll give you the options for coming the rest of the way.
