CPE Prep - Equine and Bovine/Ruminant
What to bring:
Please be sure to bring:
* the CPE manual provided to you by the ECFVG
* your stethoscope
* sturdy work shoes (i.e. enclosed shoes or boots)
* seasonally appropriate, professional clothing (coveralls not required)
You'll be working with large animals and possibly going on some calls with Dr. Gemeinhardt, so please dress accordingly - for safety, comfort, and a good impression.
A neat, clean pair of jeans and a polo-type shirt is appropriate attire, but shorts, dresses or skirts, T-shirts, and tank tops are inappropriate. You may wear scrubs or coveralls if you prefer.
Please cover any body art and remove any facial jewelry. Large finger rings, loose bracelets, and dangling earrings are not allowed when working with large animals.
The guesthouse is fully equipped with bedding, towels, and kitchen necessities, but you will need to provide your own food and prepare your own meals.
Please do most of your studying before you arrive so that we can
focus on the hands-on procedures while you are here.
Airports:
The nearest airport is Piedmont Triad International (PTI or GSO) in Greensboro, NC.
It is about 45 minutes from Latitude 36.
The larger airports are Charlotte-Douglas International (CDI) and Raleigh-Durham International (RDU), both of which are at least a 2 hour drive away.
