CPE Prep - Photo gallery: featuring the Keiger dairy
Dr. Talavera collects a milk sample
from each quarter of the udder for the
California Mastitis Test (CMT).
Mr. Keiger guides Dr. Talavera through the CMT.
A summer morning at the Keiger dairy.
This corn will be used as silage to
supplement the pasture and pelleted ration.
The Keiger dairy has been in the same family
for over 100 years, earning it the title of a Century Farm.
Principal dairyman, Weldon Keiger, keeps
one of the best small herds in the state, their milk regularly having the lowest somatic cell counts (SCC) in the region. He also has
some of the healthiest cows around. A huge THANK YOU! to the Keiger dairy for helping us prepare CPE candidates for the exam.
